ReadMinute respects your privacy. This page explains what we collect, why, and your rights.

What we collect

• Cloudflare (our host): aggregate request logs needed to serve and protect the site. No individual user tracking.
• Microsoft Clarity: anonymized heatmaps + session recordings to help us understand how readers use the site. Clarity loads only after you tap “Got it”; it then sets two small cookies (_clck, _clsk). It masks all input fields + PII server-side. See Microsoft Privacy Statement.
• Google Analytics 4: aggregated usage analytics with Consent Mode v2 — analytics storage is denied by default and only switches on when you tap “Got it” on the notice. Ad storage stays denied. Anonymizes IP addresses. Used only to understand fleet-level traffic patterns.
• localStorage (browser-only, never sent to server): theme preferences, reading bookmarks, reading streak counts. Stored only on your device.
• Amazon Associates affiliate clicks: if you click "Buy on Amazon", Amazon sets cookies on amazon.com to track the referral. ReadMinute does not access these cookies.
• Newsletter sign-up (optional): if you subscribe to the daily-pulse newsletter, we collect your email address (stored in Buttondown). You can unsubscribe at any time via the footer link in every email.

Advertising — Google AdSense

ReadMinute shows ads served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

ReadMinute uses Google Consent Mode and tells Google not to store advertising cookies on your device or personalise ads (ad_storage and ad_personalization are set to denied). The ads you see here are therefore not based on your browsing; Google may still use the page you are on to choose them.

You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings, and opt out of other vendors’ use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info. For how Google uses data from sites that show its ads, see How Google uses information from sites that use its services.

ReadMinute itself sets no first-party tracking cookies. Third-party cookies may be set by:

• Microsoft Clarity (_clck, _clsk) for heatmaps + session recordings, only after you tap “Got it”
• Google AdSense for ad serving — see “Advertising” above
• Amazon Associates affiliate cookies, set on amazon.com only when you click a Buy on Amazon link
• Google Analytics 4 (_ga, _ga_*) only after you tap “Got it”

You can refuse cookies via your browser settings; this will not break the core reading experience.

Your rights (GDPR / CCPA / UK-DPA)

• Access: request the data we hold on you (only newsletter email if you subscribed).
• Deletion: request removal of your newsletter subscription + data.
• Portability: request export of your subscription data.
• Opt-out: unsubscribe from newsletter via footer link in any email.
• EU/UK readers: GDPR + UK-DPA apply. Contact us for any request.
• California readers: CCPA applies. We do not sell personal data.

Children's privacy

ReadMinute is intended for users 13+ years old. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. Parents who believe their child has provided data should contact us immediately.
